-
If a wire is poking you, first try to bend it with your
finger nails, or with a blunt object such as a pencil
eraser. If unsuccessful, you should place orthodontic or
chewing gum over it until you can come in for an
emergency appointment. -
If a part of your braces breaks, save the piece and call
to set up a repair visit. -
If your retainer breaks or gets distorted, stop wearing
it and call to have our office repair it. Do not attempt
to repair it yourself. -
If a rubber spacer (separator) falls out, you can try to
replace it by threading a couple of pieces of floss
through it and then pulling it between the teeth. Remove
the floss.
-
If you experience any bleeding when brushing and
flossing, continue to keep the area clean by brushing
and flossing, as this is usually a sign of plaque
induced infection. If a particular area is painful or
swollen contact our office.
